One of the biggest sport events in the world is coming to Denmark. It will be legendary when the giants, the ice hockey heroes, put on their national team shirt and fight for the title: World Champions. For the first time ever, the 2018 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship will be held in Denmark.
The host tem of Denmark will play in Group B in Herning, with Canada, Finland, USA, Germany, Norway, Latvia and newcomer South Korea. The games will be played at the 11,000-seat indoor arena, Jyske Bank Boxen. The first puck drop takes place on 4th May 2018. The worlds 16 best ice hockey teams will play 64 games during the tournament. 30 of these games will be played in Herning.

When the 2018 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship takes place in Herning, one of the MCH exhibition halls and outdoor area will be transformed into a giant mecca of food and beverages, activities for both children and adults, a large and varied music and entertainment program and many cosy ‘hang out’ areas. In the Fanzone everyone can join the fun and experience the atmosphere at one of the largest sport events in the world. It is completely free of charge to join – also if you have yet to purchase your ticket for the 2018 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship.
Most of the 10.000 m2 combined indoor and outdoor Fanzone contain a large variety of activities. You can beat your friends in air hockey or football pool, play floorball, try the new and cool asphalt curling and test your own capabilities on the artificial ice rink. On the stage, you will experience a program packed with live music, competitions, entertainment and dance shows. You can also meet some of the many sponsors and partners behind the 2018 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Denmark. For instance, you can purchase the latest 2018 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship merchandise in the large outdoor tent in the middle of the Fanzone.
Do you find yourself getting thirsty or hungry don’t despair, as the Fanzone offers more than 20 different outlets with food and beverages including Thai food, sushi, pizza, the famous Danish hot dogs, as well as cocktails, coffee, wine etc. and of course lots of beer.
After each game, the arena will be emptied in order to prepare the arena for the following game. With the Fanzone right next door to the arena, you get plenty of opportunity to experience the ice hockey atmosphere and sense of ‘togetherness’ with all the many fans, which is very special for ice hockey.

Join the 3.2km Fanwalk and experience the spirit of fans when ice hockey enthusiasts from all over the world make their way to the 2018 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship games.
The Fanwalk route starts at the city square in the center of Herning and ends at the 11,000-seat indoor arena, Jyske Bank Boxen where everybody can take part in the ice hockey party in the official Fanzone positioned right outside the Ice Hockey Arena, Jyske Bank Boxen.
